This policy explains what information SafarSalah ("we") collects when you use this website, and how it is used.

Information you enter

The places, dates and options you enter into the calculator are processed in your browser. To find places, boundaries and road distances, the text you type and the coordinates of the places you choose are sent to third-party map services: Photon (Komoot), Nominatim (OpenStreetMap Foundation) and OSRM. These services receive your IP address as part of each request and handle it under their own privacy policies. We do not store your trips on our servers.

If you choose "Use my current location", your browser asks for permission first. Your coordinates are used only to look up your town.

Information stored on your device

We use your browser's local storage to remember your chosen school, units, theme, cookie choice and your five most recent trips. This data stays on your device. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. Choosing "Non-personalised ads only" on our cookie banner asks Google to show you ads that are not based on your browsing history.

Analytics and logs

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and performance. If we add an analytics service, we will list it here.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Since we do not hold trip data on our servers, most requests can be met by clearing your browser storage. For anything else, contact us at [email protected].
